QUALITY IRRIGATION SERVICE SINCE 1989.
West Irrigation March Newsletter
For the first 2026 edition of our monthly newsletters, we want to extend a warm welcome back to all West Irrigation Services clients. Even though Minnesota is still fighting us with cold and snowy weather, we are actively gearing up our office operations to begin preparing for the 2026 irrigation season. Ignoring the blizzard that we all endured this weekend, spring is (almost) here! As a quick reminder of our history, WIS was started in 1989 by Mike Lamb. Danny started working with Mike in 1993 and became his business partner in 1999. Nine years ago, Mike retired, and Danny took the helm. Mike’s words of advice were, “Keep the ship off the rocks…”. In those nine years, we have been fortunate to fill the ship with a crew of phenomenal individuals. Because of your commitment to WIS, we are happy to say all of our crew is back again this year and ready to hit the seas! The WIS team is proud to continue the mission of providing you with great service and build expertise, along with water management-minded solutions for your irrigation needs. Input from customers like you has been our guiding light to “Keep the ship off the rocks…”. Based on your feedback, we will be announcing
Well Irrigation Systems: A Smart Watering Solution for Your Property
Well irrigation systems offer a reliable and efficient way to water landscapes while reducing dependence on city water. Homeowners, farmers, and commercial property owners often choose well irrigation systems to maintain healthy landscapes and control water costs. By planning the right system from the start, property owners can improve water efficiency and support long-term landscape health. What Are Well Irrigation Systems? Well irrigation systems draw groundwater from a private well and deliver it through an irrigation network. A pump moves water from the well to sprinkler heads, drip lines, or zones designed to match the property layout. Unlike municipal water systems, well irrigation systems allow users to manage watering schedules and coverage based on their specific needs. Why Choose Well Irrigation Systems Many property owners choose well irrigation systems because they provide consistent access to water. In addition, these systems help reduce monthly water bills by eliminating city water fees. Well irrigation systems also support large landscapes and high-demand watering areas. As a result, lawns, gardens, and fields receive steady water even during dry conditions. When combined with a professionally designed irrigation system, well water can be distributed evenly while limiting waste. Key Parts of a Well Irrigation System Well

Keep Your Lawn Thriving with a July System Performance Inspection
As summer hits its peak, your irrigation system is working harder than ever. That’s why West Irrigation offers a July System Performance Inspection (SPI)—a mid-season check-up designed to keep your system running efficiently through the hottest months. This essential service ensures your lawn and landscape receive the right amount of water without waste. During the SPI, our technicians will run and inspect all zones, adjust sprinkler heads for optimal coverage, and set your controller to a summer-appropriate watering schedule. We’ll also inspect your rain or weather sensor, check pump operation (if applicable), and leave your system in the RUN position with the sensor active—unless instructed otherwise by you. If we find standard repairs, we’ll handle them right away; any major issues will be flagged and discussed with you before moving forward. Routine inspections like this help prevent bigger problems later in the season and improve the long-term health of your system. If you haven’t scheduled your irrigation system start-up or mid-season maintenance yet, now is the perfect time. Ready to optimize your system for summer? Contact us today to schedule your July System Performance Inspection and keep your lawn lush all season long.
